Well, the Arwen/Aragorn thing doesn't bother me in the least, because the relationship was there, it just was only talked about in the appendix, and I think it adds to the story to have the love story happen I did care a twittle about the queen from the books, and I think it is OK to think his love would be important.

You are right that we have probably seen most of it. She does have to show up at some point with his his family banners and the sword... Who brought him the "king stuff" in TTT? - Or perhaps into RoTK? Was it her? - or someone else? and reminded him of the Paths of the Dead? Looks like I need to re-read my book.

Interesting to me, anyway, is that Aragorn is still carrying his sword from FoTR at Helms Deep.... maybe they will delay the sword until RoTK...

Well...the books hint at Arwen a lot, but rarely mention her outright. Re-reading the books after reading the appendix, there are several times when Aragorn is remembering her or where she is vaguely mentioned, but it isn't really clear why he's acting the way he is. I'm thinking of a part in Lothlorien, for one...but I don't have the books and can't check.

It also clarifies why he's almost cold towards Eowyn...that would be confusing if Arwen's relationship with him wasn't made clear.

Halbarad, the sons of Elrond, and a bunch of Ranger dudes bring the king stuff.

I stayed up late to update my antivirus software and...download the LOTR word document from the Yahoo hole. Here is part about Aragorn in Lothlorien that I was thinking of:

At the hill's foot Frodo found Aragorn, standing still and silent as a tree; but in his hand was a small golden bloom of elanor, and a light was in his eyes. He was wrapped in some fair memory: and as Frodo looked at him he knew that he beheld things as they once had been in this same place. For the grim years were removed from the face of Aragorn, and he seemed clothed in white, a young lord tall and fair; and he spoke words in the Elvish tongue to one whom Frodo could not see. Arwen vanimelda, namárië! he said, and then he drew a breath, and returning out of his thought he looked at Frodo and smiled.

Sigh...I'm still more impressed with the book Aragorn than with the movie one!
