Don't think southern towns have "commons."

Probably not in Florida, but a lot of the older southern towns are built around town squares. Heck, Savannah is built around 17 of 'em...(or something like that)

Oh, I guess that's right - even the People's Republic of Charolottesville has one, come to think of it. I just never heard it called a "common," so did not connect it up.
