Ahem! I'm quite sure your report was mistaken. It could not possibly have been Gimli engaging in such unseemly (undwarvely) behavior. Why, the Khazad Dum Times Tribune reports that for that same period he was entertaining very important guests from Rhovannon... The write-up here says,"Gimli's guests remarked upon the fine quality and "ripeness" of the meat off the bone, as well as praising the fine malt beer and roaring fires".
So I think the entertainer you had was that twisted elf Shamlis, who thinks to disguise himself as a dwarf so as to tarnish dwarvish reputations. I mean, reallllly now, "snow pants"??? Come on now, did he have a little Santa Claus hat, too. Ummm hmmmm, I thought so. Snow Pants Polka, my eye. Silly little elvish tripe. Did you know there is a warrant out for Shamlis's arrest in these parts? Oh yes, you might want to consider turning him in if you run across him again. The rewards are quite well worth it! Gift certificates in quite liberal denominations to the famed TARZHAY DWARROWDELF.
Here is the only picture I could find from the paper. Obviously it is quite late into the night because as you can see the room is a mess.
As you can see, Legolas, Elessar, and the Boromir look-alike weren't taking too kindly to Paparazzi being about. If you look closely at the picture you will see it is definitely Gimli and he is wearing snow-pants. They are even tucked into his galoshes.
This pic was taken just as Gimli was getting ready to premiere his "Snow Pants Polka."

Well ever since he started hanging around with Legolas, Gimli has been acting "undwarvely." I mean he fell in love with an Elf-witch, he actually LIKES forests now, you get the drift.
