You're welcome! Pasties were a very practical meal; they were tasty, very filling, easy to make, easy to transport, and easy to re-heat. Miners would re-heat them over their helmet lamps at lunch time.
My maternal grandfather was a Cornish miner, born in the U.S, by the way. Unfortunately he died before I was born, so I never knew him.
