I didn't get the DVD, I got the video. I have ordered the special gift set in November... I haven't got a DVD player yet... Will get one in the Christmas sales...
They say the two publications will be the same except for the director's cut.
I would be very interested in how they bring Gollum to life.

They say the two publications will be the same except for the director's cut. You may want to take a look at the review I posted earlier today. The reviewer said that none of the special features on the August DVD will be on the November DVD.
That said, you'll probably be able to pick up August's DVD at a cut-rate price by then if that turns out to be the case.

My friend bought the DVD today and brought it back to work... I just finished watching it. THE TWO TOWERS IS ABSOLUTELY GOING TO ROCK. How much longer until December?
Plus, I saw some the snippets for the extended cut. The gift giving was in there. All those who were afraid that Sam wouldn't get a rope - he does. And Gimli is properly in love with Galadriel.
Plus... there is a $10 rebate for the gift set. Use that against the huge discount of Amazon and you can get it very cheaply.

I would be very interested in how they bring Gollum to life. There's an interesting TT preview in the DVD that shows how Jackson used digital animation based (superimposed) on the actor's performance.

I can send you the preview where they show you how they made Gollum. It's quite excellent!
You'll need a Streamload account. It's free. Sign up for it and I'll streambeam the preview to you. Just let me know what your login name is.
