Agreed. I still think Jackson was robbed for the Adapted Screenplay Oscar. The screenplay was not only the best adapted screenplay of the year, it is the best I have seen in my life.

The winner, Beatiful Mind, was a rather routine pedestrian product, by comparison.

I liked A Beautiful Mind... and if I were voting,I would have given it best adapted screenplay. Because not only did I fall for "the lie" once, I fell for it twice. To me, that's good story telling.

But I would have given Peter Jackson Best Director because he earned it. He did make the best movie of the year. And Lord of the Rings should have been best picture. Well, Hollywood can congratulate themselves... they stayed about "crass commercialism".

Jackson was indeed robbed. Perhaps he can find solace in knowing that Hobbits everywhere are breathlessly was for installment 2 and solace in the millions he is making and is going to continue to make. How many people are dying to see A Beautiful Mind 2?
