I am around... just have very little to report!
My horses have the vet coming in an hour and a half... I am about to go out and give them both a bath so they are ready for inspection. I always feel that all of my skills in good animal husbandry are being examined when they go before the vet!
This is just an annual checkup for both of them, inspired by the West Nile virus scare last week and my call to the vet about vaccinating for it... -And the pony needs her teeth floated (filed down). Bay had it done in January. She will be sedated for the process, which is worse than your dentist appointments! They have a big metal contraption that holds their mouth open, and then they file the teeth down with a tool that looks like a carpenter's file.

I always feel that all of my skills in good animal husbandry are being examined when they go before the vet!Can you imagine how I feel taking my kids to their liberal Democrat doctor? I'm always nervous! But he seems to really love my kids. He is also my doctor (family practitioner) and got a great deal of enjoyment out of the fact I got bronchitis while protesting the Florida recounts in the cold and rain. I did send him a post card from the inauguration...LOL!
