I think, that the elves were not even supposed to be on Middle Earth, but had gone there so that they could be "artists," or be of a higher caste, and have powers.

Another reason to bash Elves. They came to ME just so they could lord it over everyone else! It figures. :D

I put together some wallpapers this morning (I was making one of Arwen, and just got on a roll). They are rather large, so I will not post them here, just link them. They were all made for 1280x1024 resolution, but should resize pretty well if necessary.
