I dunno... I just don't see how getting
in front of the predator is a survival trait.
As for possum, they seem to be doing pretty well here in Texas. And as for them playing dead, I never understand that trait either... if I were a wild predator, I'd just look on that like a free meal...

I never understood why playing dead worked either, but it does, except with oncoming cars.

I like 'possums...I think they are clever. They curl up and play dead until you harrass them to the limit then they show you a lovely mouthful of razor sharp teeth! They are pretty attentive parents, aren't they? Aren't they the ones that carry their young around with them? They can hang by their tails from a branch. I like that!
I had a stuffed toy 'possum when I was a kid. The babies snapped to it's abdomen! Too funny.
