That last one (the tornado) doesn't sound too funny at all. Every year up hear around Seattle there are some wacky snow and ice mishaps with cars. No one knows how to drive in the stuff in our cities.

Went grocery shopping this morning (not planned, just a happy coincedence) so we're well stocked on food for the next several days at least. And we still have lots of D batteries left over from Y2K that haven't expired yet. :)

Sounds right. The family name translates to something about saracens. In a way that history stuff is a bummer. I can't sue every nationality that overran Rome. :)

The Jarrel tornado in 1997 passed about 5 miles from my house..The 'Storm of the Century' about 9 years back, dropped one of its tornadoes about 3 blocks away from here. When I felt the air pressure drop, I got the family and dogs into an interior closet. This was a weak tornado which just tore down some fences, and took part of some roofs.

Well, I've embarrassed myself. I'm going to bed now...
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, I've embarrassed myself. Not half so much as Hair will, in the keywords.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Well, no, the tornado wasn't funny. I was kind of angry at the way I (and the other employees) was kept prisoner, though.
When I'm driving to work in the morning, I have the air conditioning on full. After a few miles it gets too cold, so I turn it to vent. Always get several seconds of "steam" coming out of the vents as the warm humid air from outside comes in and mixes with the cold air inside. :)

"bread, milk, toilet paper, bread, milk, toilet paper..." That's right...I forgot about toilet paper....and don't forget the pet food. The problem with hurricanes is that if your power is out too long, the milk will spoil.

Have a good night!

Oh yeah....fill the tank and get some cash.

Good Night, everyone!

Tornadoes scare me, because they're so unpredictable. Austin is at the southern tip of Tornado Alley, so they happen here more often than I'm comfortable with. But, the Jarrell tornado was the only one in the time I've lived here that came close to me personally.
Oh, we had an ice storm here in February 1996 that shut down the town for about 2-3 days. That was kind of fun, we just stayed home the whole time...

Just wanted to say Happy and Sweet New Year to everyone! I forgot earlier.
I'm really tired, just got in from a New Year celebration with friends, so good night everyone also.

fill the tank and get some cash.Today was payday, so both of those got done by default. I didn't realize I was so well prepared! :)
Pleasant dreams!

Not half so much as Hair will, in the keywords. I just added a couple of new keywords!
Hi everybody! - I'm home! - had a pound of steak and some pints! - Sat and talked to an English teacher from High School, who remembered me, but did not remember kicking me out of class several times!
Also saw a guy I not only dated in High School, but who lived two doors down on my street where I grew up. I did not recognize him at all. Not even after I knew who he was! (And that is a good thing, he looked very good!)- Boy, some people can change! - Recognized the teacher, but not this guy!
To: Sam Cree
Happy New Year, and a good night, Sam.
To: Sam Cree
Have a good night Sam!
To: HairOfTheDog
Welcome home!
Sounds like you had a great time!
Were you a troublemaker in high school, or what? ;)
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Oh yes, I was a trouble maker! Had a good time though. Wouldn't change a thing!
To: HairOfTheDog
had a pound of steak and some pints! When I am feeling hungry, I get a two pounder! But I am not a delicate Elf lass!
