Quiet weekend here. Summertime and less time to freep. See you tomorrow.
You got that right! It's been one freaky day here. And if the moon isn't full, it's close enough to make little difference.
We tried to see Minority Report today, but the showing we wanted to go to was sold out. So we went to Sum of All Fears instead. As an action/suspense/thriller with little connection to reality, it was ok, IMHO.
Then we tried to do some shopping... wound up having to make more stops than usual, and not getting home until 9:30 our time (much later than we're usually out and about on a Sunday). Barely time to relax a bit before heading to bed. Oh well.
Here too! We had a small patch of rhubarb that grew wild in our back yard, in a patch of weeds right up against the house. Never knew how it came to be there, but it was always a summer treat to pick some and eat it raw, dipped in sugar. Then one year my Dad cleared out that patch of weeds, and no more rhubarb...
Our little wild patch never had enough rhubarb for a pie... not that my Mom could have made a pie with it anyway... (she'd be the first to tell you that she's not a very good cook.)
There's a hard cider called Woodchuck that's usually sold in the beer section.
I like to get unpasteurized cider (usually it's in the produce section on ice) and let it sit at room temperature until you can taste the alcohol (week or two?) You might want to put a water seal on it to make sure it doesn't turn into vinegar.
Up this morning to watch the Today Show. Corin, Jr. is there with his choir. We'll see if they get on the air.
Thanks for your comments from Fri nite...I never saw myself as a hero...just a simple, sorry jarhead...
Krispy Kreme, my friend?
Here's a rarity from me... a sunrise!
Yes, unfortunately... operating on a little over 4 hours of good sleep. I'm doing ok at the moment, but I'll be feeling it tonight I'm sure...
Off to work, friends, but I have tonight off so I should be hanging about. Hope everyone has a good day... Corin, has your son's choir been on yet?
I saw a special on the Discovery Channel this weekend on Earthquakes...you familiar with the Cascadia Fault?...
Coffee with your Krispy Kreme?
Oh we are full of faults up here...
Seriously, we are... We get little quakes so far, though we had one that did some damage last year, They are still repairing the old stone building fronts downtown here in my home town, and our capitol building dome was damaged and still being repaired.
We will get a bigger one someday...
Well, I wasn't gonna pick on y'all about that...
We had a 7.5 back in '92 when I was stationed at 29 Palms...you saw the rifts in the desert... awesome...
