Weston perfected the Selenium meter in the 1930s. I have some from that era that are still working fine. Megatron in the UK bought the rights and designs and makes a modified clone of the Master V (the last of the "great ones"), it sells for something like $300 or so. Do some web spelunking for "weston master light meter", there's lots of info available about them.

I've seen Master IVs and Vs at garage sales, but never one that worked. I suppose I've passed up an opportunity, if anyone refurbishes them. Why couldn't a silicon cell be substituted?
