Tell your story of the past year here at FR. What were your best memories of FReeping?

Here it is one year later and I have not left my computer since I signed on. First thing in the morning FR. Last thing at night FR. In between FR.

It has been an intersting year. Lets review. Last year at this time we had to fight the DemoRats for the White House against the sorelosers. Then George became President in January. Then it was quiet till China decided to take out our plane. Then Ann Coulter was attacked at Cornell. The twins were set up by a rat. Summer came and summer went and Condit is still here, scarry as that is. Then 911 and everything went to hell.

Since then we have RadioFR which is the next #1 Talk shows on the radio thanks to BobJ and the different hosts. There have been FReeps of the witch Hillary and The impeached Bill. There have been orange streaks in the sky and Jet fighters putting a X on the moon and dogs on the grill. Beatle Harrison died and the Beatles were number one 30 years later. Have we really come full circle? No we are just getting started.

Now we are taking on the anti-people who really are just morons. It has been a long and interesting year.

Think about where we would be without Freeepublic? Where we would be without TLBSHOW? Where we would be without all of you? Scarry isn't it? Well that can be taken care of right here at this thread. Best thing to do is sign up for a monthly and we can stop doing fund drives. $10/$15/$20/$25 what ever you can do will help keep Freerepublic.com rockin! The other option is no FR and then where would we be?

Last year at this time I was angry at Al Gore for spoiling everybody's Thanksgiving. People were not out shopping like the merchants expected. That's when the downturn in the economy really started. It never really recovered. This is Al Gore's recession.

Is the X on the Moon thread still around or has it been relegated to the cheese archive?

You make a VERY GOOD point!

As I think about this, I realize that son-of-a-b!tch and his fellow 'rats really set off so much uneasiness and we really haven't got over it!

Damn you Algore, and your Taliban friends!

What a difference a year makes!

Yes, what a difference a year makes! Last year the weekend before Thanksgiving, I was up and at 'em against Gorons and their election heist attempt! I saw a post on FR about rally's all over the country, and got the scoop on the rally in Jacksonville on Saturday Nov 18th. A week before was My first FReep at the Veterans' Day parade in downtown Jacksonville. It was envigorating on Veterans Day so I knew I had to make the upcoming rally!

As I arrived at the designated site, the FREEDOM FOUNTAIN at Friendship Park, across the beautiful St John's river from the Jacksonville Landing, I was alone except for my 70 year old neighbor, who arrived shortly after me. I asked people when they arrived if they knew the organizer, and no one seemed to know who he was or better yet, WHERE he was!

So, I relied on my Marine Corps training and TOOK CHARGE! Soon we had about 40 patriots there armed with Bush/Cheney signs, American flags and poster board signs calling Gore a theif! We assembled and marched to and fro as the TV cameras taped it all. A still photographer kept snapping pictures as we marched along chanting "Stop the recount - Gore is a thief!" He asked my name when we finished and I thought nothing of it, as they had done the same thing a week before and nothing was in the paper.

The next morning, I went out to get newspaper from the driveway and as I tossed it on the patio table I could not beleive my eyes - there on the front page, above the fold was this HUGE picture of our rally / protest demonstration!

I was astounded! Then I found the same picture in the on-line version of the Florda Times-Union and asked another FReeper for help to get it posted. Before long, FReeper Fred Mertz FReep mailed me and said that same picture was on his newspaper in Fort Knox, Kentucky! I would later find out the picture was published all over the country!

I am really pleased that the country stood it's ground and now George W. Bush is the Commander-In-Chief!! (I can't even envision Al Gore leading the country after the attacks - we would all be speaking Arabic by now!!)

So, a year later, after our country was attacked by some really dumb terrorists, we are in much better shape as a nation united and 100% behind our president and our military - Let's roll!!

Semper Fidelis,
Norb

I was right behind you, signing on December 4, 2000. This was after lurking for a couple of years. Autumn has really been a time when conservatives need each other to shed some light upon the liberal media's bias. Thank you Jim Robinson.

When I stood naked on the Intracoastal Causeway in Cocoa Beach with a VOTE GORE sign last November. I was able to sway thousands to vote for Bush :) Hey, you asked.
