What young people call ‘jazz’ is just overproduced Motown..and it all sounds the same
Almost all of the great ones are gone and even they are all out of ideas.
Not to worry - chatGPJazz will be soon cranking out new material at record rates. :)
There is tons of AI generated music already out there on YouTube.
I was at a restaurant a couple months ago. Liked what I was hearing in the background music, but it was very faint / low volume. Asked the bartender what was playing, and it was an AI generated YouTube channel.
When in doubt, don’t ask a drummer.

Atonal music is written in a way that is not based on any particular key.
I listen to 88.1 here in SoCal, but much of the time it’s a soloist doing improv with no melody. I call it musical noise. Very annoying.
I guess they refer to this as Microtonal.
I love these guys.

Jazz is, and always has been, the musical answer to Tourette Syndrome. Except that people do jazz on purpose.
Jazz isn’t dead, it just smells funny. - Frank Zappa

Yes and no. There are atonal elements but more often it involves changes in key, changes in time signatures, polyrhythms and unconventional song structures. It is also decidedly more aggressive sounding than traditional jazz.
I resent that ! ; )
