Conservatives score historic win in most left-wing province.
Canada went tropical last week (October 24, 2026). I would have written “Hell freezes over in Canada,” but Canada is frozen most of the year, so that wouldn’t work. A political earthquake like nothing before has shaken the Great White North to its tundra core.
I’ve previously vented my disdain for our Frozen Banana Republic neighbor, which locks up Christians, dismisses citizens in need of health care, and treads upon the rights of the common man while claiming to be nice in the process.
The country has drifted, then rushed to the political left over the last ten years. Aside from ongoing Conservative wins in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada was turning into a Liberal graveyard. Even one prairie province, Manitoba, is governed by the New Democratic Party (NDP), which is further left than the national Liberal Party.
After last week, change looks like it’s coming, and for the better.
A miracle happened in British Columbia, one of the country's most liberal provinces: Conservatives have won, big time. Imagine Republicans taking over the state legislatures in California and New York. Far-fetched, right? Total fantasy, for sure.
Yet something similar just happened in British Columbia.
The BC Conservative Party swept the provincial election, winning a commanding majority. Premier-designate Lorne Doerkson campaigned on cutting red tape, cutting taxes, increasing energy and resource production, and making the province business-friendly.
Unlike other Conservative parties, the BC Conservative Party spent decades on the political margins. For years, anyone who wanted to get the NDP out of power generally had to vote for the BC Liberal Party, which served as the centrist/center-right alternative. The Liberals renamed themselves BC United in 2023, but the Conservative Party, reinvigorated when former BC Liberal MLA John Rustad joined it that year, rapidly gained

So, why are marxist politicos all over the world attaching the word “democratic” to their movements. Clearly, they think that word gives credibility to the cause. Socialism, communism totalitarian gubmints oppress, steel, kill millions, and eliminate liberty. Then there is the moslem hordes. WAke up people, before it is to late.

Let’s see what happens. This could be the start of something. Or the Conservatives could start implementing a program and the voters could turn on it because they believe the press BS that its too “harsh” and vote the Liberals or Socialists back in. That seems like the all-too-common outcome. Conservatives being elected are simply a rebellion with no lasting effect because they can’t put a program in place. The press starts a propaganda campaign and the voters can’t see through it to allow the Conservatives to implement needed reforms.
Parties in office for a long time can become stale and unimaginative as a dominant clique cements themselves into power. When that happens, the party in office can become vulnerable to election defeat if the opposition assembles the necessary leadership, resources, political talent, and issues.
It does seem that throughout any change (and in any country), the role of the “press” is consistent.
Just when I thought that nothing good would ever come out of Canada again.
Now, of course, as the conservative government tries to fix the mess created by the liberals, the liberals will find a way to blame the conservatives for not fixing them, not fixing them fast enough, or blaming the conservatives for creating the problems in the first place.
Accordingly and predictably, the voters in the next election will show those conservatives what’s fors and elect the liberals to fix the problems. Just like the voters in the US are about to do.

Once you post it, it takes so long, that I (them) are not sure if it went thru, so they repost.
It may also be the lack of money this site is experiencing.

The same here. I don’t know if this double post situation is just on my computer but I have noticed, on some occasions (?) an orange color appearing on the post button when it is tapped, supposedly meant to clue in the poster to the fact that the tap was entered successfully and on the way. If this color change is just an anomaly on my computer, it would be a great addition to prevent the double posts.
Commies have misused the title “democratic” for a very long time. An example is the German Democratic Republic, aka East Germany.

Because Democratic is derived from Demon, and it represents their father of all lies.
Democratic is used to mean that if something is good for the people (in the opinion of the Democrats) then the restrictions of the Constitution can be ignored.
It all goes back to the definition of Democracy. The French guy wrote DEMOCRACY in AMERICA 200 years ago. It defined Democracy in America as not in the government...but in the Market Place. Americans vote with their feet where to live, where to work, where to play, where to worship, where to shop. In that America, Democracy is not in the government, which is a Republic.
The current Democracy movement and usage of the term Democracy says no: Democracy should not be in the marketplace. The Intelligentsia knows what is best for the people to buy and will tell them what is best for them. And the Intelligentsia knows best where people should live and where people should worship and work, and play and will do what is best for everyone.

Yes, well, not just commies miss use it, patriotic americans do as well. I have heard all types refer to our constitutional republic as democracy. Nothing could be less truthful.
