A liberal journalist goes to Cuba expecting to document Trump’s damage. The Cubans have other ideas.
Worth's questions about American policy produced another revealing exchange. During nine days of travel, he had not met a single person who blamed Donald Trump or the United States for their situation. He sometimes reminded people about the blockade and asked whether conditions had worsened. Retired engineer Guillermo Almeida told him he saw no change since January. Venezuelan oil, he explained, had not been reaching ordinary Cubans anyway. Another man offered a concise explanation: “It seems to us that the real embargo is inside of Cuba.” Worth's questions suggest he was trying to establish the consequences of Trump's blockade. The Cubans' answers kept taking him back to the consequences of their own government.
Worth acknowledged that the pandemic devastated tourism and reduced remittances from relatives abroad. Those developments made an already depleted state weaker. They do not explain six decades of political control, economic mismanagement, and repression. The Atlantic Council's examination of Cuba's state-run economy describes a failure years in the making.
Worth also visited a Catholic nursing home in Havana. Its residents included former government employees and military officers abandoned by the state and their families. One former soldier had fought in Angola and carried a tattoo of Che Guevara, acquired when he was eighteen. He had once believed in the revolution. Now he wanted its leaders gone. Even men who had served the revolutionary project were spending their final years in an institution run by the Church.
Worth's final stop was Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago, where Fidel Castro's ashes are kept. The grounds were immaculate. Soldiers in pressed uniforms performed a precise changing of the guard to patriotic music. Then a breeze carried the acrid smell of burning garbage across

DSA members should be forced to spend a year in Cuba.
...and to think that LIB nitwits in the US want “socialism” or “democratic socialism” or some such pigeon droppings.
This socialist “jornalist”/propagandist will not be affected, reflective or the least bit changed by his visit to Cuba. Instead he will return with his burning hatred of America intact and will continue to try to destroy the American nation.
I pray that Cubans can be freed from this socialist hell-hole of a prison.
It is a shame.
I have known a number of Americans of Cuban extraction, and I found them to be hard-edged (with respect to socialism and communism) but hard-nosed workers, dependable, and personally engaging, colorful, and friendly once I knew them.
Think of how amazing Cuba could be. Think of the private investment that would be pumped into Cuba to rebuild it, both in industry and tourism.
From a tourism perspective, if the Communists have not utterly and permanently destroyed the natural beauty of Cuba, it is rumored to have some of the most beautiful beaches not only in the Caribbean, but in the world.
It has the potential to be so much, and the stinking curse of socialism and communism has kept its people from ever being able to reach that potential.

The DSA knows exactly the destruction their policies inflict on our country and the e American people and they inflict them on us intentionally
These DSA operatives are not misguided, they are malicious
Many are working as paid agents of China and other globalist interests to destroy the United States in exactly the same way their parents and grandparents worked for the USSR during the Cold War
Treason pays extremely well for the professional left
“These DSA operatives are not misguided, they are malicious.”
Which is why my tagline is true. They will never admit they’re wrong. And they’ll kill anyone who disagrees.

Rush called the “Rent-a-mob”.
DSA members should be forced to spend a year in Cuba.

Yep, and they shouldn’t be allowed to stay in luxury hotels like they usually do on their pilgrimages. They should be forced to experience the Cuba that real Cubans live, not the Cuba of the ruling elite.
Fixed it for you.
