Anti-Semitism is always the final destination of the trash demagogue. It’s the hole card that gets laid down when everything else has failed. That has certainly turned out to be the case with Abdul Muhammed El-Sayed. He has, of course, been circling around it throughout his campaign, beginning with his dalliance with Hasan Piker, arguably the lead voice of left-wing anti-Semitism for this decade. But now, with a single week left in his campaign for the Senate, he has settled into it with a vengeance. No longer is it possible for El-Sayed to totter atop the fence emitting dog-whistles in one direction and excuses in the other.
Rebellion PAC, which has been joined at the hip to El-Sayed since before he was nominated, just released a campaign ad which has been characterized by Matt Vespa as “The most anti-Semitic ad to air for a Senate race.” It’s awfully hard to argue with that conclusion once you’ve seen the ad.
It’s set in a grocery store with a couple food shopping for the family. They’re blue-collar working people (literally – the man is wearing a jean jacket and the woman a blue and black plaid shirt). It begins with a disagreement over their purchases involving bananas and eggs. Both, it seems, are too expensive because, as the woman puts it:
“We’ve got to set that seven dollars aside for killing Palestinians.”
Her husband answers: “Don’t we give Israel four billion dollars a year anyways?” (Yeah, I now, It’s pretty much AI dialogue all the way through.)
“And now we’re giving them another twenty-six billion dollars. So you know how much that is per American taxpayer?”
“…it's costing us a lot of money to drop bombs on Gaza.”

If I supported vicious, evil sneak attack murderers of my neighboring civilian women and children, well...
I’d certainly expect my neighbor to spend whatever resources available to *Smoke* *Me* with extreme and vigorous abandon.
We still live in a Napoleonic/Metternich international conflict resolution structure (sprinkled with millennia old Evil...) and even Trump, as much as he would like, can’t change that reality nor can anyone else drawing breath on this rock.
