The first look at Greta Gerwig’s vision for Narnia has been revealed.
Today, Netflix is giving a first look at her vision for CS Lewis’s magical world in the trailer for The Magician’s Nephew, the first chronological book in the beloved series.
With the soundtrack of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven, the trailer opens with magician Andrew Ketterley (Daniel Craig) intoning that “sometimes one story is the beginning to all the others”, as he gives a group of kids a magic ring that will transport them to strange and wonderful lands.
Elsewhere, the trailer gives a first look at many locations and characters familiar to fans, including Jadis (Emma Mackey, the future White Witch) and Aslan, the mythical lion voiced by Meryl Streep.
The Magician’s Nephew tells the story of two children in Edwardian England named Digory and Polly (newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell) who chance upon the Wood Between Worlds, a realm with many portals to different dimensions. There, they witness the birth of Narnia.

It’s too bad more people don’t read these wonderful stories that stimulate the mind instead of watching them and having mindless glittering images poured into their heads.
I wonder how many get their Christian theology from shows like “The Chosen”?
I’ll stick with CS Lewis’ books.
She directed Barbie which I watched for 5 minutes and then changed the channel.

Wokeness, once again, is demonstrating the one talent it has: turning what it has touched to s**t.
Netflix gets what they deserve when they hired Greta to do this movie. They know her history and did it anyway.
The movie will be a disaster. It may even be the bomb that destroys Gerwig’s “golden touch” reputation. The interesting part of this series to me is that Led Zepplin finally - finally - allowed their music to be licensed in a movie / streaming show. I wonder why that happened, especially for this trash. They don’t need the money.
Tone-deaf Hollywood.
Unless they Astroturf it like The Odyssey. Flood the zone with reviews such as "It changed my life!"
The Silver Chair is amazing. I read it when I was 12 or 13 and a few other times after that, and I still think of it often. Actually, each of the books has scenes that make me think of it every so often. The Magician's Nephew is amazing too. It's the first book in the series that I read.
