The National Football League says it is continuing forward with plans for the upcoming Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints game in Paris, amid ongoing unrest in the French capital.
The Steelers and Saints are poised to play the first-ever NFL regular-season game next weekend in Paris, at the Stade de France.
Ongoing protests over school conditions in recent weeks have led to violent clashes with police. The movement, which began in the Paris region and rapidly spread nationwide, has seen teenage students in their final years of high school block access to buildings and clash with law enforcement.

People live above those shops and their lives are endangered...they could burn to death. Shame on CBS... a bunch of distorting, integrity-free jerks.
As other posters have noted most US cities are not exactly “safe”.
Paris is a gigantic city and France is a huge country.
Probably less than one percent of the people/area are affected by the Muslim riots.
The “news” around here makes everything appear a lot bigger than it is.
The trend for France is a disaster—but it is probably easy to manage one sporting event for one day with minimal incidents—in 2026.
By 2036 the situation may be different.
Why is the NFL playing in London and Paris, where 99% of the people wouldn’t know a touchdown from a touchback or a quarterback from a cornerback?
If Aaron Rodgers survives the trip to France, he will be 43 in December. He is now a few months older than Elvis was when he died, and has yet to have a #1 song. On the other hand, Elvis never threw a touchdown pass in the NFL.
Owners have convinced themselves they’ve milked the US market as far as it will go. The real money is to expand internationally.

I’ve been to France.
If they play that game they’re nuts.
How’s that?
“ U.S. President Donald Trump has urged France to close its borders in response to the ongoing violent protests there, blaming immigrants “with hatred in their hearts,” as French President Emmanuel Macron is set to “solemnly” address the nation.”
You believe this is going away
Ok.
I was very clear.
It is overstated.
Most of Paris is safe.
Most of France is safe.
That is today and probably the rest of this year.
Beyond that is another story.
Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s just manufactured and will subside (after our elections)”-?)
I certainly hope so
