Late in the second quarter Saturday at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, No. 7 Texas was up 14 points on a Florida team in free fall. The Gators, ranked as high as No. 8 earlier this month, were coming off back-to-back blowout losses, the second of which was handed to them by a South Carolina squad that was previously winless in SEC competition.
To top it off, Florida arrived in Austin with its QB1 nursing a shoulder injury that he suffered in that disheartening setback to the Gamecocks.

College football appears to be at parity this year (finally).
No real dominant 1 or 2 teams.
Talk about unexpected, the Gators were blown out the last two weeks after blowing out Ole Miss.
The Gators have a solid group of very good players, they don’t have enough talent to be a complete team or compete for championships, but they can sneak up on people.
As much as people complain about the NIL and players transferring every year, the net effect is it has equalized the talent, players want to play and transferring for some decent money to another school helps that school and takes away depth from a lot of the blue blood schools.
Honestly this is why Sabab retired. They used to recruit some of the best talent just to sit on the bench.
He saw the writing on the wall and his legacy would be impacted.

Manning got outplayed by a back-up/redshirt freshman QB...
Manning needs to return to college in 2027 (which he will likely do) and transfer out of Texas- preferably to Indiana where he will receive GREAT coaching...
Manning reminds me of Chris Sims. Sims was the number one recruit, NFL QB family lineage, and ended up at Texas. Sims never lived up to the hype and Manning has not too.
or maybe, just maybe, Sarkisian is an AWFUL coach and good coaching always wins out...
On paper Ohio State outclasses Indiana but the Hoosiers, who have the best football coach in America, college or pro, have played the Buckeyes (who have an awful coach) neck and neck...
Yup- if his name was Arch Thompson, he would receive 10% of the hype...
WOW!!! What a break for Ohio State!!!!!
I can’t believe what I just saw. I thought Indiana had won the game on that TD. Then the announcer said he was out of bounds...
People will be talking about that play for a long time.
Day isn’t awful...He’s the best recruiting coach in the nation. But Cignetti is clearly the best coach. He was amazing at JMU and now and IU (a perennial loser) he is even better.
Clearly he’s a cut above the rest. Day isn’t very good at game management.
Marsh knew from the get go his foot was out of bounds...
But still not sure how what you said disagrees with my point there there are no dominant teams in college football this year.
Great to see!
Now if THE Ohio State gets more comeuppance.
LOL- okay...so what you’re saying is Day can recruit, which Ohio State has always been able to do, but he can’t coach...
Day is A-W-F-U-L.....
This year against Texas.....got past IU just now by the skin of his teeth....Last year against IU in the B10 title game then Miami in the quarterfinals...Lost to Michigan, four years in a row....
Day’s teams ALWAYS underachieve...
Funny you talk about his recruiting...had he recruited a decent FG kicker they would’ve beaten Michigan half those losses, would’ve won the B10 last year and would’ve competed for a 2nd title...
The P4 is a circular firing squad. On the plus side, some of the non-blue bloods have legit chance at the trophy, which is fun.
