No. I’m a pilot. Planes do not need landing lights. They need runway lighting. As a matter of fact, your night landings are much better without using landing lights. The landing lights help for your plane to be seen by the tower and other traffic in the air and on the ground.
I know. The term “landing lights” is an anachronism from the era before runway lighting became routine.
