Don’t Believe the Polls!
American Thinker ^ | 14 Oct, 2026 | Robin M. Itzler

Don’t believe the polls! Many are designed to make Republicans feel there is no reason to vote.

Anyone can conduct a poll solely to obtain specific results and have it picked up by supposedly reliable sources. In the summer, a previously unknown organization called Median Strategies put out bogus poll results that were picked up and promoted in our frenzied 24/7 news cycles. In an admission to the Los Angeles Times, the organization admitted that its poll “was created as a short-term social experiment examining how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification.”

That was a doublespeak way of saying, “we lied.”

We hear the word “poll” and assume they are all conducted in a similar manner. However, some are “push polls,” specifically designed to lead people toward a desired result. Even supposedly reputable polling companies often have some push poll objectives. FormPlus explains how push polls work:

Leading Questions: Instead of phrasing questions neutrally like “Do you support Candidate A?”, a push poll would ask, “Would you support Candidate A if you knew they increased tuition fee by 250%, making tertiary education unaffordable?”

False or Misleading Claims: Some push polls not only steer opinions but also include outright lies (e.g., “Did you know Candidate B embezzled funds while serving as governor?”)—even if there is no evidence that suggests the candidate did it.

Emotional Manipulation: Some push polls also frame their questions to provoke fear or outrage (e.g., “How concerned are you that building a factory will contaminate the rural water supply?”

Poor Sampling: Because these “polls” are not research-driven, they often contact large numbers of people rapidly, disregarding proper sampling methods to maximize the spread of their misleading message.

Remember when ‘the polls’ showed hilLIARy had a 95% chance of winning?

That was funny...

In retrospect that was so stupidly and obviously wrong- it had to be designed to discourage GOP voters.

Polls are inherently unreliable since they require people to speak to strangers on an unsollicited call and ask those people to disclose their personal political opinions. Most rational Republicans simply don’t take the call. The polls are skewed with babbling Democratic idiots.

They are mostly push polls at this point.

Yep.

Remember Hillary Clinton - 94% chance of winning on the morning of the 2016 election?

Kamala Harris - ahead by three points in Iowa the weekend before the 2024 election? A state Trump went on to win by 13 points?

I think there is a very large, conservative voting population out there that the pollsters don’t survey - and yes, it is a big psy-op by pollsters to get Republicans not to vote.

“Most rational Republicans simply don’t take the call.”

This election cycle, I’ve received three unsolicited calls from pollsters. I hung up on all of them. I’m not afraid of speaking my mind politically - I just didn’t wanna share that information with them.

Don’t Believe the Polls!

From related threads...

It wouldn't be surprising if anti-Trump pollsters are using Democratic gerrymandering maps to rig the outcome of their polls as much as such maps are allegedly being used to rig the outcome of elections.

That being said, Trump's red tsunami of Democratic and Republican supporters, evidenced by his third win in 2024 elections, need to help preserve his legacy by likewise giving Republicans a record-breaking win in the midterm elections.

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich believes that “fake polling” favoring Democrats is to keep Republicans depressed so that they don’t vote.

Do they ever think this might ALSO rile up more Republicans to vote?

Should be a poll question.

Just substitute a name like Nicole Wallace or Jake Tapper for the name of the pollster and you’ll know how much credibility to give them.

I was the first to call for RFK, Jr. to drop out of the race and endorse President Trump. I did this on Sunday, August 4,2024 after weeks of tracking the polls where RFK, Jr. was taking votes away from Trump more than Harris.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, Clay Travis repeated the call for RFK, Jr. to drop out and endorse President Trump. I'm assuming that he saw my post on FR the day before with my polling trend reports from the weeks before.

On August 23, 2024, the Trump camaign released a memorandum announcing the endorsement of Kennedy after he dropped out of the race.

I'm taking the credit for being the first to discover this trend and calling for Kennedy to drop out and endorse President Trump. Travis picked up on this and publicized it on his show. The Trump pollsters verified the trend and began backdoor negotiations with Kennedy to do what I suggested.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The polls are indeed largely garbage.. the sampling and turnout modeling is just broken beyond repair.

This election will come down to turnout, and they know it.

This is the first election of the Trump era where the GOP actually has the spending advantage. Depressing the GOP/MAGA turnout is absolutely required for any shot at the Dems winning the Senate, and they know it.

The GOP/MAGA doesn’t need to show up like its a presidential year, but if the MAGA conglomerate by and large doesn’t show up, like they tend not to in most elections where Trump is not on the ballot, then the Dems could indeed win in places they normally would not.

Hopefully that spending advantage, and Musk’s spending are going to effective GOTV efforts. If they are, and the MAGA segment shows up, in reasonable numbers the dems have zero path to the Senate and they know this.

The interesting thing about this election to me, is that neither side really has ground level excitement.... Yes the Dems will show up to “stop Trump” so they are going show up, but there is no real on the ground excitement... Sort of the same on the GOP side of things, the core GOP obviously is going to show up, but there isn’t that on the ground energy of a 2016 or 2020 or 2024.

Yes Trump’s approval ratings are near historic lows, but Democrat approval ratings are just as low or lower. So, this isn’t some election where the dems have some major momentum, yet that is what they are manufacturing these polls to show, and its just not true.

If the GOP’s GOTV is effective, the dems have ZERO chance in these red state statewide races... with perhaps he soul exception being AK.. because with 1/3 of the population on some sort of assistance, and the GOP cutting those programs, there is absolutely a chance that a protest vote could go against historical norms there.. plus rank choice voting always favors the left when you don’t get over 50% outright and they know it.

MI ain’t flipping, this is a state where you need ever D vote to pull out marginal wins, and the people of MI are too decent to let Sayed get to the Senate... I don’t for one second believe the polls in this race are anywhere near accurate.

TX? I don’t see that happening either... even the Dems aren’t spending there. They aren’t even believing the polling there... No Abbot is not in any way at risk of losing, and that alone should tell everyone just how baked the public polling is.

It will be closer than it should be because Paxton is divisive among the establishment GOP, but TX is not collectively moving 15+ points left.

OH, if the GOP has typical boring midyear turnout, then it is possible that the dems win... Dems will likely put 2-2.2 M votes in the box there and if GOP is complacent and just has a typical midterm turnout, then if they hit the high end of that range, they could pull out a win. Ramaswamy sure as hell doesn’t help matters, what an abject POS this guy is, and he being at the top of the ticket will almost certainly cost the GOP some winning purple district house races in OH... However if the GOP GOTV is even modestly successful reaching out and getting the low propensity Trump voters to show up, dems can’t win.

ME, not in play, haven’t believed this is in play from the start. If Trump or the Maga voters were actively abandoning Collins for her impeachment vote, then yes, she’d be done.. but that’s doesn’t even seem to be on anyones mind in this race, so hard to see her losing no matter what the polls say.

KS and IA? Please, not going to happen.

The dems should take the house, if they can’t net gain 5 seats or whatever it is, they are effectively done as a national party for a decade or more. However, some massive blue wave? let alone tsunami? I just don’t see it.

Time will tell, and early voting data will help give a better picture... right now OH data is clearlry showing enthusiasm at the Dem side, which was expected... they are actually 5k above their 2024 numbers so far, while GOP and unaffiliated are at 50% or so of their 2024 numbers.. but no way those numbers are going to hold. If they do, that would imply Dems could be putting 2.5M or more in the box in OH, an at that state the GOP better damn well get their turnout machine going full tilt, because they will need more than just a few of the MAGA folks to show up, they will need a large large number of them to.
