I guess that would be a feather in his cap.
I was always under the impression that those Mexicans (or rather, usually Mexican-American activists) who talk about or refer to themselves as "La Raza" like to emphasize their "indigenous" American-Indian ancestry and characterize Spaniards as their oppressors, even if they have some Spanish ancestry. In contrast, the upper classes of Mexico and other Latin American countries like to emphasize their Spanish ancestry and downplay their Amerindian ancestry.
Humans first came here over the Bering Straights land bridge. They established themselves in various parts of the hemisphere and were at war with their neighbors for centuries down to the present time. Not one native person stayed on their original land when a stronger tribe came along. Native Americans who are here today all live on stolen land, stolen from the previous tribe who stole it from the previous tribes.
There’s a famous satiric piece by an Afrikaaner journalist or politican where he apologizes to black South Africans for the white settlers who introduced them to smelting metal ore, wheels, combustion engines, electricity, running water, sanitation, and modern medicine. The same “apology” is due to American Indians from white Americans (North and South). Even their most advanced cultures, e.g. the Maya and Inca, never figured out how to work with metals (other than soft gold) and relied on volcanic glass for knives and swords.
They can also start picking from amongst their families and neighbors who they'll slay in human sacrifices.
Similarly, white liberals who constantly acknowledge that they’re living or working on “stolen” American Indian land and apologize for doing so should just sign over the title of their property to the nearest Indian reservation. I’m sure the gesture would be most appreciated, but I haven’t seen anyone volunteering yet...
It is really Columbus Day , and what is funny is that most American Indians (what they call themselves) don’t care for the term “indigenous.”

Instead of having Indigenous peoples’ day why do we not have Indigenous peoples’ month and not a single day. Better yet why is Veterans Day a single day and not a Veterans month. They both deserve this. Yet we have gay pride month when half the country really does not care for it. It’s about time that WE THE PEOPLE start fighting back against the moral decay that is facing the UNITED STATE of AMERICA by those who only want to undermine this great nation.
The tribes have two perfectly good days to call their own. They earned them and no one can take them away from the tribes.
Aug 19, 1680 Pueblo Revolt
June 25, 1876 Little Big Horn.
But no-O-o. they want to glom onto Columbus Day in which they did absolutely NOTHING TO BE REMEMBERED FOR.
