I wonder how many got him mixed up with Luther Vandross?

Saw Luther multiple times during his career. Once, in Long Beach in the '80s, there was a number of fat & sassy black women behind us wondering if it was going to be "Fat Luther" or "Skinny Luther" showing up. It was Fat Luther.
These women went on and on about how disappointed they were. Indeed a strange scene to see a bunch of fat women complain about how a gay guy was too fat to sing love songs to them.
