Eventually Hitler and Stalin were going to fight, no matter what.

It was possible for the British Empire to stay out of it.

The Americans could have focused their war effort on Japan instead.

Yes, that’s what I would have presumed, too.

As similar as the practices of both regimes were, as irreconcilable were the theoretical principles upon which they were based.

However, had Hitler not been the utter madman that he was, a Soviet victory might not have been a foregone conclusion.
