We need at least 1 or more companies making machines that can compete with AMSL and we need more companies than Taiwan Semiconductor, Samsung, and Intel who can take those AMSL machines and produce advanced semiconductors.
Right now, AMSL is the only company in the game for advanced lithographic machines, that’s a problem combined with the fact that basically 3 companies control manufacturing of advanced semiconductors is also a major problem.
You’re right, and other technologies are great. But you’re arguing with a point I never made. The point I made is that nothing from the standpoint of AMSL is limiting anybody on this. As far as AMSL is concerned they’d be happy if two or three more competitors to the big chip manufacturers sprung up and bought their equipment. So AMSL is not the limiting factor, here. It’s competition and cost to get into the game.
But happy also if AMSL also had competitors. In fact, China is already making AMSL knockoffs for their own internal manufacturing. So bringing something completely new is fantastic.
