I really think there is something to this. My aunt absolutely loved cooking and would spend hours cooking new recipes and wonderful meals, but would barely eat. She always said that she got more satisfaction out of preparing the meal than eating it. I also have a friend who loves to bake and brings trays of cookies or other baked goods to church meetings and other events but never eats any of them. Same answer - the baking is better than the eating.

Yes, it’s like an art form for them.

I would not cook or bake without sampling! That is a critical part of that work, for me.
