Having lived as a legal resident in and worked across Europe, all our friends there are asking somewhat the same question.
Besides, Europe doesn't really want to fight Russia. They want us to, and have lobbied for it.

War fever is ramping up again across Europe. This has happened several times in the four and a half years since Russia invaded Ukraine, usually coinciding with important national elections — particularly those in Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Poland, and Germany — when certain domestic political parties have been demonized as “pro-Putin” and “security threats” to the rest of Europe. The war drums also get loud whenever increased military budgets are being debated within the governments of the Scandinavian and Baltic states, Finland, Germany, and Poland, as well as the European Commission. The ebb and flow of political battle cries against the Russian Federation track closely with Europe’s electoral and parliamentary calendars.
It is no coincidence that the German government decided to announce five days before Saxony-Anhalt’s September 6 elections that Russia was responsible for a small drone discovered at the Leipzig/Halle Airport over a month earlier. Although the drone carried an explosive charge, the device caused no damage and sat at the airport unnoticed for many hours on August 4. When Germany accused Russia of perpetrating the “attack” four weeks later, Berlin presented no real evidence for its conclusions.
Nevertheless, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and national leaders across Europe immediately declared solidarity with Germany and condemned Russia’s “hybrid war” on “European Union soil.” To many observers, Berlin’s finger-pointing appeared timed to dampen momentum for the “Alternative for Deutschland” political party, which German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the European Establishment have defamed as “Nazis” and “Russian puppets.” If that was Merz’s goal — to stave off election defeat for his political allies by falsely accusing his opponents of being Russian tools and spies — it did not work. The EU and the leftist elites are the enemy of European countries and the citizens of those countries. The elites control the news and censor social media so how can citizens make rational voting decisions? I hope some Europeans cab read this article, posted outside the reach of the censors, for now.

The euros deserve what they get. They have been parasites for several decades. ...and to think so many Americans have died and so much American money has been spent so they can be effete, arrogant socialists and worse.
Standard policy tactic. Historically, whenever the ruling party or clique is threatened by opposition, they gin up an external threat to suppress internal conflict. EU is on its last legs in its current form, so distracting the press with rumors of war is about all they have left.

It has occurred to me that a war with Russia would kill off many of the young European men who could rebel against the Globalist/EU agenda to transform Europe.

Wow. Excellent summary. That is it, in a nutshell.
We have the same issue here, by the way, but not generally because the government actually censors the media, but because the media, being greater than 90% Leftist, is simply captured and does the bidding of the Left voluntarily.
Here in the US, the result is the same: too many Americans who depend on the Media for their information have the same problem that prevents them from making rational voting decisions.
In other words, the mechanism is different in the US, but the result is the same.

Muslim immigration and the war in Ukraine are two separate issues and should be treated separately. Has it occurred to those who want to abandon Ukraine that both Muslim immigration and Russian aggression can be threats?
Europe per se is gone.
In the last year and a half I visited France, Austria, Germany and England.
I hardly saw any French, Austrians, Germans or English.

Let the Russian’s have Donbass. It’s a far cry from reconstituting the Soviet Union and control of the Warsaw Pact countries. I doubt this is Russia’s goal. They’ve had too much war already. The funny thing is that we did not seem to care much when the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact were formed the first time.
This is all a distraction from the Muslim problem that several countries face, Russia included.
The EU is collapsing. They have just announced the roll out of their digital currency. How convenient, just when the serfs are beginning to revolt, they instate digital currency to control them.
They need to dust off the Guillotines, sharpen the blades, and get busy before they are trapped in a digital hell.
