You have a great point. Greenland, however, has awakened me to the dependence in treaties on these international “organizations”. America’s stake, or control, of Greenland was dependent on the continuation of NATO. This makes NATO difficult to leave, for the US, unless we want to invite China into Greenland.
I suspect that much the same is true for the so-called “United Nations”. These organizations have a way of identifying who supports them and insuring their own survival.
