In the 1960s, it was the Left that feared a military takeover, especially with a President who wanted to end the Cold War. That was the plot line of Seven Days in May. At the time, the top levels of the Armed Forces had a significant number of right wingers who were unhappy with President Kennedy. The tables have turned in 60 years.

All you showed was left was always paranoid, Hollywood at time and into the future from there, more so. The removal of Kennedy came from the left, either by route of Warren Commission finding, or LBJ conspiracy.
