FWIW, I have an 8-year old granddaughter that’s being homeschooled.
Her current reading and comprehension skills are now rivaling the today’s high school senior levels!!! Her math skills? Not so much...LOL. She’s trying though.

I understand your meaning, but, given today’s high school products, that may ge faint praise. Universities are complaining that incoming students can’t read, write, or calculate.
