Former first lady Michelle Obama’s voter registration and engagement initiative is targeting Generation Z, launching a “Voting Squad” made up of popular content creators and aimed at urging young people to head to the polls.
Some of the content creators joining the effort announced Tuesday include Brandon Edelman, who is known as Bran Flakezz on TikTok and boasts more than 1.4 million followers; “plant enthusiast” Paige Tailyn; physician and “medical mythbuster” Joel Bervell; and influencer Leon Ondieki, who’s followed by 4.5 million TikTok users.
Cameron Jerrard, J.C. Carter, Wildlin Pierrevil, Justin Frett, Scot Louie, Olive Okoro, Carrie Snipes and Gabriel Zamora will also be part of the appeal to Gen Z voters.
The group, described by When We All Vote as a “nonpartisan network of content creators,” will “use their authentic voices, styles and platforms to share relevant election information with young voters, including important dates and deadlines in their states, how the issues young people care about are on the ballot and fact-checked voter resources.”
“At a time when lack of accurate information is one of the main barriers preventing Gen Z from voting, the Voting Squad will serve as trusted messengers to reach and resonate with young voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections,” Obama’s organization said in an announcement timed to coincide with National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday.
“Registering to vote takes less time than our daily doomscrolls, and we’re excited to bring hope, community and reminders of the power of our voices back into our timelines with our Voting Squad,” said Kalisha Dessources Figures, a senior adviser for When We All Vote.

What a startling innovation. She’s a genius.
The whole thing with socialists and cults is that everything is framed for tomorrow, the future, soon, the promises are all in the vague future...
Their vaunted promised tomorrows never come. Well, not the way they say they will. The “leaders” know it will never happen, it just keeps them in power.
Maybe I’m just old and out of it, but I am very skeptical about how much influence “influencers” really have.

That is the problem. Over half of voters have no idea of what they are voting for.
Every little bit counts. When a state has 4 million voters and the vote count difference is 11,000 about 0.002% of the vote. Every little bit counts.
A little bit on issue A, a little bit on issue B.
A little bit on social media. A little bit on positive ads
A big bit on negative ads.
A big bit on a ground game of door knockers.
That is the way close elections are won.
Currently the big difference is that the left has an effective ground game. We have Students for Life and FAith & Freedom and a few other small efforts. But nothing like the DSA.
Of course they mean Moochelle’s staff. The mooch does not work. Work is for little people.
Seems the people worshipping online “influencers” are people sitting on their rear ends all day. I’m not sure how this is going to translate to them finding a polling place, making sure they are registered and actually going to vote.

Michelle Obama is starting a Gen Z voting drive? The woman who can’t be bothered to get up off her ass to do much of anything. Who complains that getting up in the morning is too hard. Who resentfully viewed politics as as something that her husband dragged her into kicking and screaming and that put her life and aspirations on hold. That Michelle Obama is starting a Gen Z voting drive? Gen Z probaby has no idea who Michelle Obama is.
