Understanding Islam's Rise in America Without Rancor or Vitriol

America’s unrivaled prosperity and freedom make it hard for us to understand why everyone doesn’t want to live and think as we do.

Even leftists in the United States who routinely assail our history and institutions share this mindset. Their true ideology might be said to be cognitive dissonance. While they spout Marxist dogma, their very viability hinges on keeping the blessings and fruits of our current system. The difference is their belief that they should be the ones to command and distribute them. The problem, of course, is that they may likely kill the golden egg-laying goose in the process.

With rare exceptions, such as millionaire provocateur Hasan Piker, none of them believe competing cultural models, such as those in China, Iran, or the Arab states, offer a superior way of being. As much as they claim all cultures are equal, their actions and expectations – has any group demanded, and felt entitled to more stuff? – reveal them to be almost caricatures of the Ugly American. And yet, as true progressives, they believe in the superiority of their views and expect, over time, everyone else will see the light.

This is wishful thinking – both nationally and globally. Billions of people around the world have been reared in very different societies, shaped by very different histories. Most of them don’t want our culture, because they like their own. They don’t want to live like us, even when they seek to live among us.

This is becoming a major issue in our era of relatively easy mass migration. Many of the people who have come to our shores are bringing not only their hopes for a better life but also their very different beliefs, values, and assumptions.

The Koran (translated by Dawood in Penguin Classics series) says, “When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them” (Sura 9:5). “When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield, strike off their heads” (Sura 47:4). “Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate” (Sura 9:73). “The true believers fight for the cause of God, but the infidels fight for the devil. Fight then against the friends of Satan” (Sura 4:76). Who are these idolaters and unbelievers and infidels? Those who are not strict Muslims. “Muhammad is God’s Apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another” (Sura 48:29).

For the orthodox Muslim, the Koran’s commands are valid for all time. Fifteen hundred years later, Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini (a better authority on the Koran than either Smalley or I) is able to say, “Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Islam says Kill them (the non-Muslims), put them to the sword and scatter [their armies]. Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you!” (quoted in “Islam Unveiled” by Robert Spencer, p. 35).

Islam is the not same as Unitarianism or Christian Science, and wishful thinking won’t make it so.

Ok, I get the fact the rape of Dinah isn't a cool thing - but it's history. Biblical history. There is NOTHING in modern day Judaism that encourages rape. There are many things in modern day Islam that push for the unspeakable. Did you know people in Iran are still 'stoned' for crimes?

The old rules apply. And that the worse 'the crime' (like anything considered sexual between unmarried people) can requires the girl to be murdered by stoning? And that there are rules about being stoned? Buried to the head is for minor crimes - to the waist for serious crimes. Why? Because it takes longer to kill a person buried to the waist. And stone size is also a factor determined by the judge. Larger stones and boulders - kill faster. Smaller rocks can take much longer. A person buried up to their neck with large boulders allowed will die quickly. Smaller stones and buried to the waist take much longer.

Tell me something that lets me know you know something about Islam.

Oh, and Iranians hate Sauds - they whisper about the fourth 'wife' spot being saved for prostitutes... Do you know how people communicate in Totalitarian Islamic countries - so the state doesn't pick the up at midnigjt and murder them?
