A guy named Brendan Keefe who works as a journalist for InvestigateTV got a tip from his daughter that someone was putting up a Flock camera near his home in Atlanta, GA. He went to the location to watch and record what was going on, just like the Flock cameras watch and record us. When the Flock installer got in his Flockmobile, Keefe followed, to see where he went next and to watch what he did next – just like the Flock cameras do to us. Apparently, what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander.

We have had traffic cameras for years...they are at every major intersection..
What we have not had is the ability to track people wherever they go doing whatever they do.
Typically, traffic cameras for tickets only recorded a protentional violation, or just generically gave a video feed.
Flock is by continuous documented surveillance that allows identifying everyone at nearly any time they are in a monitored public space, and the data is stored for long term retrieval (no one is making me believe it ever gets erased, that is naive).

At the very least these LPR cameras need to only record a license plate if there is an active warrant or a stolen vehicle report filed on the vehicle. All other images should not be stored.
Preferably, we’d have an outright ban on them.
