Abraham’s bosomThat's what the "hell of the just" refers to, as in "He descended into hell." The temporary, neutral resting place of all human souls who died before Christ, the hell of the just was viewed as a place of peaceful waiting or rest (often associated with Abraham's bosom).

There was and is the 'hell of the damned'. First death then the judgement. As shown by the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, Luke 16:19–31, there was a difference between the 'just' and the 'damned'. The temporary, neutral resting place of all human souls isn't the reality then and post crucifixion/resurrection of the Lord isn't the reality now.
