A big under-reported crime is the deep wells of cash lots of schools enjoy while holding their hands out for money from government and parents. They’re loaded while handing out degrees of specious and dubious worth.
Agreed. There is no reason why any public funds should go to the Ivy League universities, which sit on billions of endowments. Ditto for Stanford, Duke, MIT, Georgetown, and so forth. Let them liquidate some of their trust assets. Additionally, there should be zero Federal involvement in higher education, the service academies like West Point excluded. Let commercial banks, savings and loans, and other lenders make student loans with zero Federal or state support or guarantee.
