I just saw a video on LinkedIn about how large corporations will be laying off thousands of employees in the coming months due to automation.
Therefore less revenue to pay off the $40 trillion FedGov owes.
So have the companies who use the robots send money to the treasury every two weeks just as if they had a person doing the job.
If the robots could sue their employers for various infractions we could keep human lawyers employed as well.

That is merely gaslighting from the large corporations.
"Automation" is a convenient explanation used to deflect blame for executive decisions away from the managers who will make the decisions. It might even be truthful but often it is not.
Organization tend to accumulate useless procedures and activities over time. Entire departments of people end up doing activities which are not needed or even harmful. Eventually, the corporate executives need to decide which of those activities must be discontinued, and which people must be laid off.
It is not necessarily due to any fault of the targeted workers. They may have been doing exactly what they were directed to do as well as it could be done, working hard and competently on their tasks.
Layoffs cause hardship for the people targeted. They are stressful for the decision makers as well. And they are never "fair". They cannot be "fair". And there are always some people targeted who should have been kept on because they turned out to be performing essential activities at reasonable costs.
Mistakes happen during layoffs. There is never a restitution or acknowledgement of those mistakes. At best, people move on to something better.
