Callousness that almost leaves you speechless

Coincidentally? Prophetically? Providentially? Whatever the right word may be, the headline for NRLC President Carol Tobias column is “Pro-lifers offer an antidote to cultural madness.”

This particular instance of cultural madness took place over a week ago, and I’ve just learned of this viral outrage. Calling herself “Moraa,” this attention-starved woman posted an Instagram guaranteed to get clicks. It included typical baby announcement objects, only it was not a celebration of an impending birth but the declaration that she’d had an abortion!

(Picture on link)

“The unapologetic advisory — made complete with itty-bitty infant shoes, alphabet blocks spelling ‘B-A-B-Y’ and a fake-looking ultrasound snapshot — has amassed over 121,000 likes, largely from fans applauding the would-be mommy for sparing herself and her fetus from a lifetime of strife,” wrote Asia Grace for the New York Post.

Samridhi Goel described the wor:ding “Baby Cancelled. Due date was April 14th 2027.”

A onesie in the image read, “Mommy changed her mind Daddy wasn’t s***.” …

Plenty of supporters.

Some users saw the post as a statement about choosing not to have a child with an unsuitable partner.

“Wish more women were like this. It’s called intelligence,” one person wrote

Subsequently, it turned out that the Instagram post was a slick/sick fabrication described by Moraa described as a “joke.”

She said unapologetically, “I get paid to troll.” Grace added this further quote: “’Mark my words, Im’ma be on TV one day,’ hinting at her attention-grabbing ambitions.”

What can you say, other than there is some good news. Before the ruse was up, plenty of people blasted Moraa. Grace quoted one angry respondent who wrote

“A baby isn’t a dinner reservation you cancel because you changed your mind. …Turning an ultrasound and a due date into a cute little cancelled photoshoot for Instagram is disturbing as hell.

Fill in the blanks. Abortion is good/praiseworthy/to be celebrated because….

*The baby is better off dead than having a deadbeat dad

*It’s another blow against the patriarchy

*”Women of the world, unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains!”

In short

*If we ever say there is an unacceptable abortion, then the world will come to an end.

President Tobias’s column is a steady stream of encouragement. Read it tomorrow, won’t you?

It’s beyond callousness.

It’s demonic.

If I hadn’t seen this, I don’t think I would believe it. Heaven help us!
