Sounds like a lovely place to live.
My neighbor to the west moved down here with her family in the 1950s.
Her uncle wanted to open a grocery store and needed to have the lot cleared.
Numerous huge rattlesnakes slithered off to safety.
I think the last rattlesnake in my subdivision was killed in the late 1960s. A neighbor to the northwest had a copperhead in the 1990s.
My neighbors to the south have a huge, non-poisonous, black snake living on their property. The black racers are the most numerous snakes nowadays as they are the snakes best able to avoid being run over by cars.
Corn snakes are the next most common. They normally emerge at sundown. They are great climbers and like to live in the tops of palm trees. Palm tree trimmers encounter quite a number of them.
If it were Louisiana, it could be Carville’s address.
