Who here volunteers to put a datacenter in your quiet neighborhood?
They belong in industrial zones and should generate at least some of their own electricity to offset the extra demand and higher prices.

Their not “data centers,” they’re the infrastructure for a surveillance state.

Zoning doesn't allow data centers or factories in neighborhoods now. China has a vested interest in playing our press and our useful idiots for fools - fools that allow them to win the AI wars by knee capping our ability to compete.
My local paper published a comment right before Cubans and Chinese spies made their propaganda moves. They included the comment that Florida had over 200 data centers and in all these years they had not received ONE complaint about them.

AI data centers are another albatross on the neck of those families who will have to pay the ballooning costs of their electricity and water bills. These data centers need to be self supporting and pay for their own energy and cooling requirements from the profits they will make off the businesses that pay them to do their data processing.
