You know, we're still pretty fresh off the Cuban missile crisis that was still only like 15-20 years before, so it's a tumultuous period ... it was really scary.

Beta Cuck, your name is Ryan Reynolds.
I can’t stand this guy and his fake Mr. Nice Guy routine.

At 70, and considered by some to be intelligent and well educated.... I still forget from time to time how even grown men like this Reynolds kid are in effect, nothing but ignorant children wholy unaware of the world around them as it unfolds.

Some are just uneducated....too many, uneducatable.

They are destined to go through life ill informed but so proud and certain of themselves. Ben Affleck comes to mind...a mid wit at best... And a rather dull edged one at that. :-)

....the missile crisis was big but I think the Spanish Armada sort of overshadowed it.”

Post of the day.

If only you could actually be in conversation with him and say that.... He would never miss a beat and nod in agreement.

I turned 13 in 1981 and 20 in 1988.

I can assure Mr. Reynolds that zero teenagers were thinking about the Cuban Missile Crisis in any context other than a possible high school history exam answer.

And usually have a huge soapbox with which to preach their political profundities to us ignorant, misinformed little folks.

We’re missing what he DIDN’T say...

He didn’t say the usual anti-trump garbage celebs are required to say whenever a camera is near.

And I’d like to remind everyone of the previous Republican governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger when he said that he remembers Nazi tanks rolling through the streets of his childhood home.

Just to get a rise? I dunno. I’ve studied so much history throughout my life that I feel I can put myself right there in the moment.

I was just recalling when everyone was losing their mind about AIDS, and how many people were talking about Rock Hudson. I was 5 or so.

Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian (so is Ryan Gosling).

Time moves slower up there.

Billy Joel, though, could explain that a lot of traumatic stuff was going on back then.

As a teenager during the 1980s, my most traumatic experience was seeing Nena's hairy armpits.

My wife and I went to the bank to get new debit cards. We met one of the bank employees and sat at her desk while she asked us questions and did the paperwork. I don’t remember how it came up, but I mentioned that we were married on June 6, 1981, and I pointed out that we were married on D-Day.

Her response-“What’s D-Day?”

This woman is in her 30s, I would guess. My wife and I both looked at each other.

I said to her “it was in WW2”, and left it at that, although I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying more.

This woman no doubt had a bachelors degree and worked at that bank long enough to get to that position.

All we could do was shake our heads after we got out of there.
