The incident occurred on the evening of Aug. 29 when a golfer at San Joaquin Golf Course confronted a man who had reportedly run across the course, according to investigators with the Irvine Police Department.
“The golfer tried to get away in his golf cart, but the suspect caught up, took a golf club from the cart, and struck the golfer in the head,” investigators said. “The suspect then fled the area.”

Just here checking that someone posted. FR does not disappoint!
Possibility. My money’s on golf cart dude said something smartass and dude took matters into his own hands.
Not that words are ever a justification for physical violence......but this is the world we now find ourselves living in.
You beat us all to it!
Was he driving a Flintstone mobile ?
Sounds as if the golfer were asleep at the wheel.
He was caught flat footed, the attacker must have been abreast of him .
A golf cart should be able to speed away from most folks , but who knows ?
Years ago I visited my parents on a place they rented for a few weeks right on a golf course—Palm Desert CA.
Even a minor slice from the tee of one golf hole put the ball right in their living room.
Every day there were several golf balls to be found there.
Sit on the patio—and don’t forget to duck and cover.
Lol.
GTA6 is out
“Those pictures are pretty clear.”
Who took the pictures? And if the azzhalf ran down and struck the golfer in a cart, isn’t it a real circumtance that the guy with the camera just happened to be at the right spot? Why would the golfer just sit there and not run and let some idiot pull a club from the golfer’s bag and hit him? I just don’t buy the story. News was slow that day or there’s a lot more/less to the story.

The SUSPECT was not a golfer? TOOK a golf club from WHAT cart? WHO ran across the course that made the ATTACKER angry? Someone RAN ACROSS or drove the cart ACROSS?
JUST MORE BAD REPORTING! Gotta be prepared today when you decide to read an article...
I got lost and strayed onto a golf course once. A foursome approached me : “Are you a membah?”
I ducked back into the woods.
Oh, I thought it was a wicked back swing.
Security cam screen shots perhaps? 🤷♂️

“And now you’re going to die, wearing that stupid little hat.”
At least it doesn’t appear that the suspect ran off with the driver.
