“Feminism”, particularly the kind pushed by the Steinem, was one of the absolute worst things that ever happened to humankind in general, and the United States in particular.
Phyllis Schlafly would not be considered a “feminist” by the likes of the execrable Steinem who was regarded as an intellectual dim bulb, but the “feminism” of Schlafly, the “feminism of merit” that she practiced, would have gone a long way towards the ability of females to achieve their goals.
They chose instead the Marxist version, which divided men and women, pitted the sexes against each other, and created a protected class.
The damage that has caused to society in the spillover into the institution of marriage is incalculable.

Excellent observation. Well said! The post of the month!
Absolutely true.
I expect the lefty media to lionize this “feminist” as a “champion” of “Women’s Rights.”
I well remember her quote about “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle!”
She did more to set back women than anyone except maybe Germaine Greer who wrote “The Female Eunuch” - motherhood, family, husbands, kids - all oppressed women and held them back. Gloria Steinem was of this ilk.
Result? Millions of childless, husbandless, bitter women who chose careers over family and ended up with nothing. I have several in my family - big feminists who are now spending their twilight years alone.
“The damage that has caused to society in the spillover into the institution of marriage is incalculable.”
And it’s only going to get worse as more and more women are getting into powerful positions in government and industry.
We’re quickly becoming a matriarchy, which means we’re going to be a country run by emotional basket cases. Who’s going to stop this disaster?
I am still amazed that women are considered minorities even though there are more of them than men.
