“Bob” refers to the CIA Chief of Base (also called station chief or base chief) in Benghazi; official sources and congressional reports use this title or the pseudonym without releasing a real name.

He has not been publicly identified and all the Benghazi survivors refer to him as Bob. I met and interviewed a couple people who were involved and Bob was a trainer who had no background working in hot spots like Benghazi. He was only supposed to be temporary but they couldn’t get an experienced person to take over. One of them told me that at the end of the movie where Bob was shown as being confused was a lie. He was crying about the whole situation because he was in way over his head and the movie made him look more competent than what he was.
