Cage match: Texas vs. Minnesota, and other Minneapolis loon-acy

The Minnesota Maniacs take on the Texas Crime-Killers over a jailed ICE agent, and just look at who's running Minnesota.

The cage match between Minnesota's really-far-left Attorney General Keith Ellison and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott just got a bit more intense after Ellison accused Abbott of turning the Lone Star State into a "sanctuary state for violent criminals” after an ICE agent charged in the non-fatal shooting of a man in Minneapolis was released from a Texas jail.

According to Politico, which ran this piece on Aug. 26:

A federal judge Wednesday evening denied Minnesota’s bid to force Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to extradite an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent charged in connection with a January nonfatal shooting during enforcement activity. In a 13-page ruling, District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr., wrote that the court “is unaware of any authority supporting the creation of a court-imposed deadline” for extraditing individuals to the states where they’ve been charged.

Minnesota officials charged the ICE officer, Christian Castro, in May with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime after he shot Julio Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan national, in the leg through the door of a Minneapolis home. Castro was arrested in Texas that month in connection with those charges, after Minnesota issued a nationwide warrant for his arrest, and remains in custody in Brownsville, Texas.

But earlier this month, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison sued Abbott to force Castro’s extradition, arguing that Abbott was violating his responsibility to issue a rendition warrant for Castro under interstate extradition laws amid a Texas review of whether Castro qualifies as a fugitive.

Ellison took to X to state that by "refusing to extradite Castro, Greg Abbott is turning Texas into a sanctuary state for violent criminals."

What has Ellis done about illegal immigrants or their fraud and crime in Minnesota?

"refusing to extradite Castro, Greg Abbott is turning Texas into a sanctuary state for violent criminals."

The irony is deeper than the Marina Trench in that statement.

In Ellis’ eyes it’s against the law to stop Muslims from stealing from non-Muslims.

I am not a lawyer, but has ICE officer, Christian Castro, been convicted of any violent crime? What ‘violent criminals’ is Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison referring to?

A state has the right to refuse extradition, especially if the accused crime may noy meet the legal level in the state’s governance.
