Basically because a huge swath of American voters are stupid and need to be told what they're supposed to love and hate.

It's awful when both parties have to compete to with the "stupid vote".

Not just the “stupid vote” but the. getting free stuff vote, which are almost all dem. Recently I have seen many ads featuring elderly people talking about how important it is that they keep their Social Security because they earned it and need it. So far that’s all they say but I think closer to the election they’re going to start saying that Republicans want to take away your Social Security. Democrats have campaigned on this lie for decades.
