It’s funny because they don’t seem to realize that each outraged tweet is met with an equal and opposite reaction of MAGA memes. The more flipped out and angry they get, the funnier it is.
They have put everything into a war on Donald Trump. They can’t blame those on the other side for loving Trump for giving it right back, hand-delivered on a shining gold platter.

Trump did it to break the left’s cohones, and I think it’s hilarious.
Affirmative Action = DEI
Discrimination = affirmative action
Despite that, both of them had a very negative reaction to the whole "Lake America" thing, and the guy said that he wished Trump would just "shut the hell up" sometimes and not keep running his mouth because it made him sound "like an idiot". He actually said "I can't even listen to him talk anymore".
That overall attitude is pretty representative of most Trump voters I personally know. We/they like his policies, but think he says a lot of stupid, cringe-worthy stuff. That said, we'd all still vote for him again, and still support most of his policies.
I'm sure there are other Trump voters who love all the "trolling" stuff he says, so I'm certainly not claiming my/our attitude is how all - or even a majority - of Trump voters think. But it is bogus to think the only reason anyone thinks that way is because of media brainwashing.
We certainly were able to use our own judgement to reject the tidal wave of anti-Trump media propaganda in 2016, 2020, and 2024. We all made our own decisions about him based on our own independent judgments about what he said and did, and that still applies. To the extent some of us who voted for us don't like every single thing he says and does, those are our own judgement, not the media's.
**..even if the joke doesn’t seem to land right away, the reaction of his haters carries the gag over the line.**
You are very observant.
**When they cry enough tears to overflow Lake Superior, they can rename it Lake Inferior.**
Why didn’t I think of that? Trump even-that would have set them off even more.
**It’s not just leftists who are not amused at Trump’s juvenile antics. Conservatives wish he’d act more mature.**
We got our own naivete’s amongst us. Trump’s training them on how to win.
Conservatives wish he'd act more mature.
Don't hide behind the "conservative" label, just admit that for a Texan, you are an easily embarrassed pussy and want Trump to act more conventional.
BTW, the Gulf of America is becoming widely accepted, because a check of the coast line shows that over 90% of the land that surrounds the water is USA territory, the Great Lake named America is a little more subtle, having to due with water volume rather than shore line.
Higher Taxes = Increased Investment,
Government Surveillance Act = Patriot Act,
Quotas = DEI,
Radical left positions = Woke,
Gun Control = Gun Safety,
Abortion on Demand = Planned Parenthood.
I want DJT to focus on Iran...wetbacks...government corruption and fraud...and other things. Not "Lake America".
Trump’s act was weak and low-rent. It’s always going to be Lake Ontario.
The province of Ontario was named after the lake, not the other way around.
If Trump wants to tweak the Canadians fine, but after the Gulf of America, it just doesn’t have the same impact.
He should also consider that Ontario is the smallest of the Great Lakes and only Lake Erie is shallower.
But I suppose he could not in good taste call it Lake Trump.
Biden’s January 6, 2025 order tried to lock large stretches of the Gulf of Mexico out of new oil and gas leasing. Executive Order 14172 answered that in the other direction: it renamed those waters the Gulf of America and put that name on federal maps, lease files, and agency rules. The message is not subtle. Where the earlier order treated the Gulf of Mexico as a coastline to mothball, EO 14172 treats the Gulf of America as an American energy field — open for work, not closed by default.
Now, let’s see how Lake of America similarly unfolds. The story with Canada and Lake America, is not over. Let’s see how Alberta fits in as well...
...and the snake said to the lady, "You knew I was a snake when you took me in".
I have a couple of friends like this and I ask them if they were OK with Trump "grabben them by the pussy" but are now embarrassed by the the Gulf of America.
Hypocrites are such sensitive cry babies, get over it, grow a pair.
Government Controlled Healthcare = Obamacare,
Higher Medical Costs = Affordable Care Act.
Send him a post on Truth Social and explain your desires and demands, I'm sure he waits every day for the advice of a gay state resident.
Oh puhleeze.
**We/they like his policies, but think he says a lot of stupid, cringe-worthy stuff. That said, we’d all still vote for him again, and still support most of his policies.**
The left hates him with a passion and it does have a negative effect on his popularity. Trump brings that hatred to a head while engaging in the theory of diminishing returns. They foam at the mouth so bad that people start tuning them out. That’s his plan. He’s having a good time while his enemies want him dead, making it easier to choose. sides.
“The province of Ontario was named after the lake”
That makes it even better. The province just lost its name sake. We should refer to Ontario as America now :-)
Seems to me that plan has a flaw. Although that's if you consider it an actual "plan". I just consider it a lack of verbal discipline. But either way, the impact is the same.
Sure, most people tune out the most rabid of his critics. But what happens with independents is that while they tune out the most rabid of his critics, they lump together Trump with those critics and also tune out Trump himself. Because he's the leader of the party who does not tolerate anyone who doesn't defend him to the last, that also tarnishes every other Republican. That leaves the door wide open for any Democrat who isn't a frothing at the mouth lunatic.
That is not a winning strategy with the midterms coming up.
Well, women don't have a pair. And they vote. So do guys who "need to grow a pair". If you don't think we need their votes, fine. But don't bitch if it comes and bites us in the ass in November.
Why not name the province for what it is really known for?
Black Flies
Black Fly, Canada kind of has a ring to it.
I think it will catch on.
;)
How does the Lake appear to itself? How does it reflect in my experience and contrasts and compares to its self-actualization and experience.
I think no one should name it until it finds out whether it believes it is a sea, ocean, inlet, lake, or even if it identifies as the concept, water. What if it only identifies as ice because it prefers that state?
I mean, really, calling it a lake when it might not actually perceive itself as lake is aggressively speicific.
I say, wait. How do we know the (lake) isn’t sentient? Who decided this very anthropocentric idea that bodies of water aren’t aware?
