Have you ever used a trail cam? Most of them are infra red, which is invisible to us, but not all critters. Even people can see the leds in the dark. I’ve had deer walk up and stick their nose directly on the camera, which indicates they have no trouble seeing it at all. An elusive creature may not be disposed to walk directly into a “street light” illuminated area.

Many nocturnal creatures have better night vision than humans, and many Bigfoot sightings are at night. It would stand to reason that they can see infrared light better than we can, and might be inclined to avoid an infrared light source.

If I were to search for Bigfoot, I would use high dollar true night vision cameras, nothing that needs artificial illumination.
