Ms. Coulter is using “rule” rather loosely there. Out of curiosity, I looked it up. The last time a British monarch exerted any real authority was back in 1708.

I doubt she was intending to give a hard fact here considering she followed it sarcastically with, “The closest we have to that in America is the NAACP.”
I know many FReepers hate Ann Coulter, but I can appreciate her biting sarcasm which few can match.
