MY neighbor Kathryn is up early every day and walks 5 - 6 miles before breakfast. She’s here in our senior complex. Moves like a teenager. does’t have a wrinkle. She came over for coffee one morning but brought her own herb teabag.
She just a few years younger than I am but looks like my daughter. And people I know fairly well think I;m far younger than I am.
Nevertheless, I’m considering a few weeks on a vegan diet to see how I feel. I never eat beef or pork anyway and threw out my salt shaker three years ago after a little heart scare..

It would be interesting to find out how she gets protein, calcium and B vitamins. I am not saying it cannot be done, but it isn't easy. I do not think there is any place in the world where you can get all needed nutrients locally without meat, fish, or dairy products. Even the Jains from India do poorly when they move to the UK, in part because they breath in bugs in India without even knowing it. (and of course, most Indians are happy to drink dairy based Lassi and Ghee).
My wife tried a vegan diet when she was an active teenager. It made her weak and tired. A lot depends on yours genes. An Eskimo couldn't go to a plant diet. Northern Europeans (wife is Dutch and French by ancestry) also do not do well with it. American Indians who switched from buffalo to corn did no do well. (Nor did those who were forced to eat fry bread as a staple, but that is another story).
